The missus just got her insurance quote for the P38A, up from two hundred odd quid to just shy of a grand. For a diesel! FFS. What are they on?

Mind you, I've seen the devastation from that EV Range Rover at the car-park at Luton Airport first-hand and f*ck me. What a mess. It is still full of rusty husks now. Floors collapsed. It must be costing millions to fix. But come on, a 30 year old diesel? Hardly the same risk, is it?

If they spent less money on advertisements and more money on statistics they could see the vehicles that are more susceptible to theft and not just blanket a whole manufacturers range of vehicles....

To be fair my Jag has also gone up, from £190 to £220. That's near enough 10%! Now that's a petrol so possibly more chance of catching fire than the diesel but still less, I suspect, than an EV.

Have you tried Direct Line? They are good over here, halved the renewal quote from my previous insurers.

that was my problem. Insurance kept going up til they said over a grand then it’s game over as far as I’m concerned. All the years premiums must have gave them 10x value of the vehicle yet the useless b******s still can’t make a profit out of it, apparently due to a badge. How corrupt must you be to earn 10x and not make a bean. They’ll have to make do without my contributions from now on.

Made a mount for my nano so I can check what's not working this week 
Bit of ss strip and a bit of alloy found in my scrap draw. Bench vice and a hammer to make the bends and a couple of pop rivets, bit of sticky back foam for protection.
Used 2 of the 8 screws holding the ends of the nano to fit the bracket.

I really had no choice at the time, the original lift up bit snapped, nasty hollow plastic thing, and ebay ones were £30-40 used. Got that solid brass one with direct operation to the lock so nowt to break for £60iirc. It doesn't fall to hand as nice as the original when selecting but it's not as if I play with my knob every 2 minutes is it...being an auto.

Today I've been finishing off this mess.
It all started yesterday, with a 23mm socket hammered on to each nut, that's not the way to go. Better off taking one of those screwdrivers you can hit with a mallet, punch a hole in the middle and start splitting the cap. Some say you can use needle nosed pliers but I have the grip of a small child so hammer and sonic-screwdriver it was, followed with a 21mm socket on what lay beneath.
While I was doing this, my new rear view camera arrived from Powerful UK, so that's already fitted and tested, just need the new brake light and I can finish the tailgate (if I ignore the wiper arm which is rusty).
Tried again to get the cdc to work (disc error) but it's not having it BUT I stuck the CD in the DVD player and.....music came out of the speakers!!!!!! Woo-hooo.
I want to try one of those Mr.12volt MOST Bluetooth Kits, but it says I have to loose the sat nav, is this true?

Long time no see, or post or read! Well, between work, bad weather, vacation and other commitments, I didn't have time to do anything with her since the failed MOT / TÜV last autumn.
But today, ladies and gentlemen, I finally did it! All findings have been repaired, the lights are working (took me about 2 hours to track it down to a faulty connector), the washer pump has been replaced, the certificate for the brake hoses downloaded and printed and I'll check the headlamp height once its dark! Only thing remaining is scheduling a new visit to my trusted inspector!
Already feel better now, and once the MOT / TÜV is done she'll fibally get the new carpets, the stainless steel exhaust and a new paint job and some body repairs! Except the body repairs hopefully all in time to take her on a trip somewhere, if anyone had any ideas?
