What did you do with your Range Rover today

Took the P38 to my local tyre fitters today - after nearly and hours work - which involved a lot of swearing and cursing the name of whoever did them up - the managed to free off all the wheel nuts for me. Best part was - there no charge as I am a regular customer. Now to wait for another rain free day to swap the disks and pads and replace the AB sensor. :)
Wheel nut on the vehicle are 22mm Wheel brace and normal P38 nuts seem to be a bit bigger - maybe 26mm??

27mm. A deep socket sshould go on the end of your torque wrench nicely to nip them up. smaller ones you have might be L322 or possibly a Disco.

I went to go outlast night got to the m25 decided too busy go different route, go to change gear coming up to roundabout :eek:clutch peddle hits the floor and stays there *&£$&^% and words to similar effect, looks like the roll pins have gone,
stalled it at roundabout as the lights where wrong so put it in low range and started it in gear and managed to get it up into third and drove it back home to sit in disgrace till I can sort it once I have got over a bloody chest infection, don't thinks trying to do it the moment would end well:(

Sorry to hear that Brian, mine needed a new slave cylinder when the pins went. When the pedal went to the floor, the piston in the cylinder jacked itself out and cut the seal in half.:(

Had a look underneath, I haven't lost the slave cylinder internals or the rod which is good news but the leaver moves around so looks very much the rollpins, time will tell.

Well , it was a - relatively - dry day today so I thought I get some more work done. Jacked up the back end after freezing the suspension and thought I would do the simple job of just changing the O/S wheel first. Cue cynical if not insane laughter. I should have known better....

The replacement wheels would not fit over the spigots on the hubs... But the OE spare in the boot does. Got the vernier calipers out and the O/D of the spigot was 72.5mm - could not use the vernier calipers in the wheel so I had to rely on a steel rule which indicated the I/D of the bore in the wheel was 70mm
This is the replacement 18" wheel pattern:

So - as it started to rain again - I packed it all away. P38 remains VOR and I am getting seriously cheesed off. :(

Not sure what can be done. Roy spent a lot of time fiddling to get it as usable as possible with all devices and browsers but I think the main problem was those of us that were testing before launching just happen to not use our phones in landscape so it wasn't noticed.

Life would be far simpler if everyone had the same setup and browsers. ....

And everyone drove Series :)

Just need to get rid of google ads - it's really bad at times.

Same here. It wasn't expensive IIRC. Nor were the pins. I banged the spine of a pop rivet up the middle of the pins to stop the sods going again.

Can't find anything like that number and the wheels don't look like anything fitted to any Land rover model i can find on Microcat.

Thanks for checking - I will have to get them back out of the garage and have a look on the reverse.
Today I had to bite the bullet and get two new tyres on the front wheels as I need the vehicle on Monday and Tuesday. Once the tyres were done I had a try at changing the disks. Calipers came off easily - so did the screws holding the disks to the hub. Unfortunately the two bolts holding the caliper retainers would not budge. Net result is a 1/2" to 3/8" adapter has sheared in half and a 3/8" ratchet spanner has broken inside. I begin to think this job is cursed!! :)

3/8" ratchet nothing like man enough for those bolts. Good 1/2" minimum. Wrenching bar better. Small ratchets are for running nuts off or up NOT for undoing tight bolts or tightening them to high torque values.

Never use a rachet for that type of job for reasons you have just discovered. You want an impact adapter and a big cracker bar.;)

Adapter sheared getting the caliper bolts out with a 12mm socket - and the ratchet failed doing them back up.. :)
I was using a 1/2" drive 20mm socket on the retaining bolts with a breaker bar and lump hammer,

Tickle with a blow-torch helps. Have to watch out for the flexible hoses an sensors though.
