What did you do with your Range Rover today

Changed out the original? possibly 19 year old Behr- Thompson thermostat on the old diesel. It had failed "safe". Much faster and smoother warm up now.
 
Swapped the transfer box motor and now have things working again.

Also cleaned out all the crud under the passenger seat when checking the ecu. Discovered an ancient Nokia hands free kit that I'll need to rip out!
 
Replaced the handbrake gaitor old one had a hole in it really improves the look of the interior. I tried using staples but I couldn't get them to go through properly so was going to use the cable tie route but seem to have misplaced them so ended up using small rivets and it worked well. If I could figure out the pic upload I'd stick some up.

Just hit "upload a file", as long as the photo is not to big and to many pixels you should be ok. See my post on page 2 "upload photos"
 
Paid a ridiculous amount of money to get the following fixed
Stainless steel exhaust plus cats
Discs and pads all round
New air bags all round
Full service
New air con rad and re- gassed
Sat nav updated
Now runs like a dream

im.just in the process of refitting my nokia hands free kit to go with my new 7110
 
On returning to my Vogue after shopping this morning, opened top tailgate, opened lower tailgate, slipped out of my hand, heard a crunching sound followed by flakes of rust falling, one of the cables had snapped, on closer inspection was rusted to ---- got home, Mrs put shopping away while I ordered new ones, then I went and set about removing the old ones, I'm hoping the new ones come with bolts, as I only managed to save one, the others were rusted in to the cable ends, does anyone know the part no for the bolts?
 
Sorted out drivers side blend motor, what a fiddly job, especially when you have fingers like sausages.At last the cheque book symbol has gone.
 
Finally got round to fitting my shiny new power steering pipes. Not as bad a job as I thought it would be, although one of the old banjo bolts on the steering box was a bit of a bugger to get off. Think I'd still have been there if I hadn't had an impact wrench to hand!

Senior Management put me on gardening duties before I got started on the oil cooler pipes, so job for next weekend... looks like I ought to order some replacement transmission fluid cooler pipes while I'm at it.
 
300 miles from home the air-suspension starts taking an age to reach the right level. Bonnet up, spare compressor at the ready ... pressure fine! Nanocom out (don't leave home without it!) and it appears brake switch 1 permanently on. Check round the back of the car and it is true - brake lights on! Multitool out, brake switch out and apart, squirt of electrical contact cleaner, reassemble, works perfectly! Something to keep an eye out for. Wonder how long this brake switch will last now?!

Back home using all the horses and a good rinse all over to get rid of any salt from the sea-water.

Oh, and hello to the rather nice blue P38 that was parked at Polzeath beach yesterday evening.

Hi, when I renewed my cables they came with all new washers and bolts so you should be ok.
 
Wash & wax the car, blacked the front and sides, cleaned the engine, sprayed bits of the wheels silver, but I have some gunmetal grey and lacquer I will be putting on in the near future, I have orderd the heat strip (the one that sticks onto the bulkhead / firewall and some 3M double sided foam sticky tape the rubbers are coming away from the doors
 
Put her in for MoT Test. It'll fail this year because I forgot to replace a dead bulb. Bugger.
 
She failed. Ball joints shot and a bit of play one corners suspension mount, which probably isn't a good thing. Ha.
