Sorted out my interior, it needed a damn good cleaning after taking my two dogs out for a country walk, they had half the field on their paws by the look of my interior!

Changed the alternator bearing found my water pump leaking and it's not that old and not **** part either I swopped out the **** part for a euro car parts one. Can't find my post about the swop but it wasn't long ago

Seems the water pump isnt leaking after all. I replaced the short hose from the top of the rad to the T peice as it was swollen looked like it would go any minute the moment I let the expansion cap off and released the pressure is sucked its self in so new bit of hose went on and I refitted the standard T price and removed the ally one which wasn't a perfect fit. And I think stretching the hose, any ways bleed the system cleaned it all off been as good as gold all day.

Tested the viscous first thing this morning all seems OK have got Keith's mod for the fans to think about as a back up.

Still all good at the moment

I replaced my brake master cylinder on Friday but had the Air Suspension Inactive, Hot Dog Controller Inactive (that what HDC stands for right), ABS, Traction control and Brake warning lights all come on afterwards. Only got to investigate today but eventually found the brake pedal switch wasn't meeting the pedal. Pushed the switch up and we're all sorted again! So easy to upset these machines!

Continued with my headlining recover. Found that the 1.5M wide cloth I bought does fit and gives about an overlap of 50mm or so each side.

This is the cleaned up headlining moulding with the old fabric and sticky foam residue removed.

The new fabric test fit.

Getting ready to glue it up.

Also found my RF receiver is not the latest type, which likely explains my intermittent battery drain problem and the fact I almost have to touch the car when operating the key fob to lock unlock it at times.

Ordered a new "green" dot one from Island4x4. Most expensive little black box I've ever bought.
Going to get the sunroof cartridge out tonight to recover the blind.

Hi,
If I can take the liberty if giving a little advice on the sunroof work. 1) Its heavier than you think !! and when the last bolts come out, its big and it takes two to move it, 2) Clean everything you can see re the rails, ribs of the frame and sunroof runners. I missed a bit on mine and first time I closed the sunshield...lovely black streak..!!!
Good luck, its a job well worth doing.

Did the headlining and sunroof reline. Glue shortage was my main prob. Sunroof manouvre poss on your own. Use the seat rake adjusters as a jack with suitable boxes to balance the rig on the headrests. Use long bolts to grab the easiest thread available. Not the pro way but that's how I did it. I replaced the cable ties round the drain tubes with jubilee clips.btw. I looked at the Ratbag and thought...............I wish I'd met you when I was young, slim and handsome.

mine fell out with me I have been really good to it the past few days painted bumpers , new diesel filter give it a valet changed the sensors on the block fitted a power box and what did the bitch do she decided she didn't like her key no more and now the fob is fubar new batteries didn't work it just stopped working fob is now getting sent away for repair , my neighbours love me as the bitch is blocking there drive ha ha

Good advice from Bagshot regarding cleaning and something I took on board when I removed the sunroof last night with the help of a neighbour. Of course the moment a socket touched one of the sunroof bolts it started to rain. In any event the sunroof came out and I put a bike cover over the hole in the roof while I worked on it.
Others than have done this fix will have seen as I did that LR use a cloth with much thinner backing foam on for the sun blind compared to the rest of the headlining. This caused me a few issues with the sun-blind. Sunroof all back together and in the car now however the blind has a bit more drag than before due to the thicker cloth.

New RF receiver dispatched so will fit that when it turns up.

If I can tonight, depending on the weather I'll get the headlining back in. It's taken far more time to do this than I imagined. Just hope it's worth the effort.
