This is any movement in the dmf that's allowed for a BMW e36 325 tds (same engine as ours)
Stung dmfs Iv reused with the 1 tooth free play have been fine many of miles down the line

I think it is a LUK DMF in there. Never noticed any issues with mine and as far as I'm aware it has been there for 150k miles.

Well she seems to have lost a glowplug or 2 took a couple turns to start instead of the usual 1st flick of the key.
Dealer glowplugs too and i removed the hot start bodge when I fitted them.
7 week they've lasted do a lot of miles a a few cold starts a day but even still they shouldn't be dead already

Sure it isn't lack of fuel? Leak off pipes OK?

Pipes was all new as I bought heap more then I needed to tap in my boost gauge.
30quid of fuel she had in her.
She's been on the button all day after being left about hour unloading and loading at a time
Will just have to whip the plugs out and check them on a battery

While the dash is out of my classic chasing a heater fault (it now works :D:D) I thought it would be a good idea to try and renovate the dash top and binnacle etc to bring it all back from the sun damaged plastic that it used to be.
After having a word with a paint expert mate of mine I set to. First off was to use a drop of washing up liquid in a bucket of warm water and give everything a good scrubbing down, rinsing off with a hose as I went. The instrument front suround was scuffed in places so that had a rub back to bare plastic and finished off with fine grade steel wool, everything was then degreased with meths and a lint free cloth as I did'nt have the proper wipes recommended.
A nice dry day today, warm with no wind, so a couple of coats of plastic primer with a rattle can then 3 or 4 coats of dark slate plastic bumper repair paint.
Really pleased with the results, esp the front piece of the instrument cowl, I expected some patterning from the steel wool but it came out spot on, looks like new.
Will have to see how well it all lasts but as it's normally parked up under cover I hope for the best.

Course now its done I wish I'd taken some photo's, just too excited to be getting on with something I forgot!! how sad is that.

Going to start putting my dash back together tomorrow so I can drive her to the paint man. While I'm about it can anyone tell me how the thermostat works on the air-con please, is it really neccessary? I can fit it later if it's absolutely vital (once I source one that is) It would appear to be the one that just pokes into the air-con shield in the passengers footwell. 1988 VM classic by the way.

Not today but last weekend. Had promised a trip to a stately home and hear it is "Black Beauty" & Harwood House - how can you not take a picture like this when they let you drive past the front door.

I couldn't get the shotgun out of the gun room in time but I managed to shout "Get off my land" but you disappeared before I got a shot off.:D
