I don't do special leads. Keith does those. Usual problem is the serial to USB adaptor software. Even if the OBDII socket is sound and you have the correct interface lead. If you do not load the driver for the USB adaptor before you plug it into the computer the computer uses a generic version that will not work. You must achieve a steady green good idle indicator or the outputs will be as you have which are jibberish.
 
I am still nursing the remnants of several recent 'P38 induced' injuries, (more down to my clumsiness than to the car in all honesty).

Only one was caused by one of my, many, Stanley Knives and that was just a 'nick'!

The Sunroof Cassette obviously has some sharp edges as that is what caused most of my cuts.

Anyway . . .

Piller trim panels now covered and excess material trimmed, (some slightly 'less than perfect' bits in places due to the intricate curved mouldings), but they still look much better than they did before I started.

Strangely no injuries from any of my headlining work despite my constant use of various sharp implements!

May refit some panels later today.

I may then be able to fit remaining trim in rear boot area, (around the sub woofer area), but not the A Piller covers as I am still considering the removal of the dash!

Also started work on my Sunroof Removal & Refurbishment Guide but it is in danger of becoming another 'War and Peace' epic!

Might even take her round the block later!
 
And besides . . .

Kitchens are more dangerous than workshops!

I once attended a call to a young lady who had attempted to force the last pieces of vegetable into her liquidised with the, (almost predictable), result of delving her finger!

Resisted the temptation to as whether she had been preparing a 'Finger Buffet' though!

That's exactly what I'm getting I'll see if iv got the drivers for the lead iv got I can get height readings at least so it must be doing something
 
Have driven her up and down the drive a few times as we were extending the driveway and the suspension is still working whoop whoop. It goes up and down OK so booked in for the mot on Wed fingers crossed the fail list isn't to long lol
 
Just done all the brake pads. Have been so pre-occupied with the engine i neglected to notice how worn the pads were tut tut, the rear one let me know about it yesterday(grind...... scrape....... grind).
 
Changed the starter motor on 02 TD6. Intermittent issue which I thought I'd fixed with a new battery. Bit of a lottery whether starter motor would catch or not. A lot better with a new battery but still played up. Ended up buying a new pattern part motor. Couldn't believe the price range anything from £70 to £300. I'm not on a budget but not paying £300 so got one for £100. AS with all pattern parts it wasn't a perfect fit and I had to drill out the hole that accepts the dowel on the flywheel housing, all of a 2 minute job. The job was really easy once you took the pollen filter housing out which is held in by two captive bolts, 1 hour tops. Starts on the button again. Well pleased.
 
Today I planned to change all discs and pads in hope of a good mot result. This is where my day went pear shaped. Jacked the front of end up axle stands under chassis both sides wheels removed then put under as a back up I left the jack taking some of the weight. Changed the disc and pad on one side went to put wheel on and knocked tiny resulting in sliding off axle stands and knocking over jack result dent in alloy and buckled jack :( could have been a lot worse. Anyway £66 later a new 3ton trolley jack is lifting tiny back up and I'm hoping this is the end if my bad luck. No chance moved on to second wheel disc screw is completely knackered and had to be drilled out and had the same joy on both back wheels. I thought the front had been upgraded to vented discs and I had bought solid all round no I had fitted rears on the front so swap over. I'm getting good at this now. This had come from opening 3 of the 4 boxes to find the all the same disc opening the 4th finds paddocks have sent 3 rear and 1 front :( Ordered new discs from local parts store be here tomorrow delayed mot till late so parts can arrive. All in all not a great day but back end finished front stripped and ready and I've hurt my back to top off everything so whiskey and bed now

Those screws can be a total bar-steward. Mine were. My impact driver did sod all. I almost despaired at one stage. In the end after some inspiration from here I tapped the mangled remains round with a centre punch. Once it started moving a normal big screwdriver took it out. My original caliper bolts needed a bit of heat to tempt them out too.

Stands should have been under axle NOT chassis. Front on P38 have always been vented discs. And a three ton jack at £66.00 is nothing more than a toy jack. Be careful how much you rely on it.

You live and learn stands under axle for rest of the day and still there now till new discs arrive. Jack was on sale 1/3 off so took the sting out a bit, if you saw the jack I was using in comparison to this it's more than twice the size. I would love to buy some huge garage spec jack but have neither the funds or use for one .
