What did you do with your Range Rover today

Think I found the cause of our increased noise - have to get a new middle box once the daily is back from the garage and we've done our trip next weekend.

My original patch on the split seems to have just forced it further round the front of the box, and now also seems to have blown a hole on the top at the back.

I have lashed a brace piece between the middle of the box, where it still seems fairly solid and over the front mount point, just in case it finally gives up the ghost on our travels next week. Should at least stop it dropping onto the road at 70mph...

Don't know - just email telling us he will be serving us with notice soon. Maybe hand delivered by the agent when they do the inspection on 17th...
Not good, I do electrical work for few landlords, some are decent and give a good while and even try help people find elsewhere, others just serve noticed the latest they can basically saying leave as soon as possible.

Very nice indeed, all you need now is a black front grille, door handles and side vents and you’ll have joined the rest of us desperately looking to prove the early Range Rovers can match the new ones for modern road presence.
Tricky :)

I did think about satin black on front grill, definitely need to do handles as one pervious owner put chrome covers on but they must have bonded them on as no chance they will come off, so thinking again, sand back, acid etch primer then satin black. Need new LR badges too. I do think the early ones have presence anyway, Maby because there’s less of them about now?

I was fortunate enough to be able to fit gloss black handle covers with double sided tape. They look great and to date have stayed firm even during hot or cold weather. Looking forward to your next update trust it’ll look as good as the letters. I’ll be finishing off my trim with gjoss black bonnet grille, window pillars and mirror covers now that the weather is a bit better.
Tricky :)

Never really noticed, but it's the torque converter on the 8 speed only used while stationary?
It's occurred to me I've never seen the revs'flare' as you would with an old fashioned auto box
Ie driving along at say 30 mph.. accelerate it decelerate and the revs match speed, like a manual box.
Is that how it's supposed to be?

Looked at the rest of the exhaust - all somewhat worn so will make their job easier and do full system. Should be much quieter after that. Mild steel, externally protected with the same high temp paint we used on the manifold heat shields.
Managed to get my left hand up and round the foglamp to the washer pumps, couldn't shift the hoses despite managing to get to the multiplugs trying to swap rear wash and headlamp wash. Swapped them back as no point, then thought "It is a P38 and that was an electrical connector being moved. I wonder?"
Tried the washers - rear now makes a good noise from the pump, and seemed to pressurise the line a bit as there was a slight dribble (presumably trapped past the back NRV) but no proper spray. Will try again when we have him out in the rain later in the week so as not to wear out the wiper blade.
Worked out the loose autodipping interior mirror we have that came with him may not be right and we don't have the cable(s) that are needed, so we will just order a suction / glue on manual dip mirror for the time being.

Friend of mine has one with the 8 speed and unless your right foot is on the floor you will hardly notice the box change.
