What did you do with your Range Rover today

Fitted a new viscous fan (I also have Datatek's fan conversion but wanted to be doubly sure of no overheat when towing my new heavier caravan this summer) - so I now have a good backup. Also did matrix seals (they were only done 18 months ago by my garage, but I'm convinced it was not tight enough as screw came undone easily). What with a new eas pump 10 days ago it's keeping me busy at the moment. :)

Had a leak on an injector, played around with the leak off pipe and managed to snap off the nipple, quick trip to parts supplier for new injector and leak of pipe. Fitted road test and still leaking. Checked torque settng and hadnt tightened enough. Seems good now but need to do proper road test tomorrow. My neighbour said my Border Collie wants to have a Land Rover badge so she get as much attention!!!

took Range rover out of storage and taxed .Started first time after 3 months and had to pump up one tyre but otherwise good.
Next job is diff flange seals front and rear then decide where to go this year .Morocco looks good so does Iran and Georgia.

It continues: ....... Suddenly got the 'ABS Fault' and 'Traction control error' and wondered if I had done something wrong yesterday when doing heater matrix 'O' rings and viscous fan. However this excellent forum pointed me to the 'stop light switch' and a quick trip to Sturgess and a new switch cured it :)

In the last 2 weeks I have covered 3,000 miles without a single issue beyond me starting to do the man maths justifying a L322.

Well everyone needs to upgrade their motor from time to time and since I get two pay rises soon, a small one in April and a considerably larger one in May... it'd be rude not to. Seen a nice 07 Vogue SE TDV8 with every conceivable option for just shy of 18k at a local dealer. I may have to make the phone call.

Look at other threads about TdV8 engine failures and costs:eek:

Everything about luxury vehicles has increased costs. If I wanted a cheap vehicle I'd be looking at a Kia C'eed. The list of vehicles to replace my P38 are Jag XK, Aston DB7 (can't quite get a DB9 in my budget), Merc CLS or Range Rover. None of which are cheap to run.

I was under the impression the failed turbo was more on the 4.4, but I shall hunt a bit more. Perhaps this is my justification to go V8 petrol.
