He said he was the one pursuing the legal action against others!! Homophobic abuse or something along those lines...

He has a lot of work to do before i'm happy with this transaction and I will be sure to leave ebay and google feedback to reflect my experience.

I don't really get this. Why would you sell a car and then fix it? You fix the issues and then sell it. Engine and drive train was covered for 6 months under EU law and I assume the UK still honours that but everything else is essentially sold as seen. If you've handed the money over and collected the car then as far as can see it is all negotiation after that.

Unless you do the work yourself these cars can empty your wallet like a racecar. Airbag light could be a bust bulb or dodgy connection for the bulb on the back of the binnacle and can require dedicated diag to clear after fixing.

I got the impression that the seller would put the car up for auction and if it didn't achieve the price he wanted then the faults would be used as an excuse to cancel the sale, the car would disappear from the auction site for a while then reappear hoping to get his inflated price.not an ethical business model. Looks like it's backfired on him I'm glad to say.

UK "Fit for purpose" law applies under the sale of goods act and covers more than 6 months.

Found a front subframe away to go pick it up,

It does have a new screen on it which is a plus.

I forgot to mention, Ford also called me up to try and explain the reasons behind the sales not going through previously...something about the car needing body work and a list of other excuses. He said there was also legal action/litigation against someone (possibly on here). I made it very clear i was unhappy with the sale process, the lying and the car not being delivered as promised to me (twice). I've registered the issues with the car with him in writing so he will have to rectify these and provide an explanation around the mysterious MOT pass.

He monitors this site too.
All the dodgy dealers monitor the sites harryc. If they were not so dodgy and actually lived up to their online ethos they claim to have then they would not have all the grief they bring on to themselves with their lies and crap which FORD MATHER clesrly showed. He never even had the balls to ring me and explain all the troubles with the car and he is only contactable by email or ebay message. No mobile. Says it all really and i am glad i did not do business with him in the end as i hate dodgy dealers. Glad you got it anyway harryc and i do hope it turns out well for you long term albeit i think you will need to invest in her to get that. ALL P38's are troublesome no matter how good they are.

The best thing that has come out of all this Alan is HE has been identified as a lying dodgy dealer and folk now know about him. That is what hurts them the most. Communities like ours are great for identifying these crooks and pre-warning folk about them. They should be banned by all the online selling platforms albeit they only re-surface again under a differing name.

All i have left too do is driveshafts and hub to strut bolts and lower arms too subframe, see if suspension needs adjusted, take it for a drive and get an alignment done again,
Apart from alignment itl be done tomorrow evening after work.

I was wondering if it is worth sandblasting and galvanising before fitting although I doubt you'll keep the car long enough to see the return.

Spills are dry stopped leaking but not getting lot of boost, foot down not really going anywhere always dropping down a gear, but can hear it’s spooled up. Think the intercoolers gunked up and pipes are on their way out, can see mist of black oil around the unions. Works fine though has not missed a beat all over Xmas and not done it’s usual thing when it strands me this time of year :)

I've a client with a disco 4, his power steering pipe had been caught on the fan and bled all over the subframe, I replaced the pipe and told him I didn't Degreaser the subframe for that very same reason:D
Simply wiped the excess off.
Used ATF mixed with red diesel is a good degrippant for rusted bolts, it also works well as a wood preservative replacement for creosote:eek::eek:
