It was but a Bastid of a job,I went for poly the second time, just for the axle end bushes,I never felt any difference. Make sure you get new nuts and bolts the old ones may be seized to the bush inner sleeve and have to be cut off.
What polys? I was thinking of those Merkin ones who's name slips my mind at the mo, proflex? Used them on my tratter pan hard rod and was impressed thus far, pricey though.

Nearly finished... Just got to take this bugger back to its owner and I'm done... Then shopping and dropping by the hospital to see Mrs Piercy and give her some clothes and stuff.

That's why new nuts and bolts. Just grind the sods off. After 20 years everything will be solid.

Are the nuts standard metric or, like me tratter, unf stuff here and there?
I used a metric socket and an AF spanner (because it was longer)
Didn't like the idea of cutting the nut off for fear of damaging the thread on the radius arm!! Plus i didn't see any nuts on the island website  so they need to be reused at least for now. Got some thread lock until i get new nuts

Finally got the radius arm off! Hurrah!! Now to try and get the old bushes out.

Really not looking forward to doing the other side! I'm any case that will now have to be next weekend at the earliest!

Good clean up with a wire brush, plenty of penetrating oil,the correct socket and a long cracker bar, taught mine who was the daddy.;):D
I've got a 3 foot breaker which i refer to as the Boss plus a few rather long spanners. Still effing tight right up to the last half turn of the thread. Stopped for a breather when the spanner got warm
