I have never quite understood spending thousands of pounds, to make a vehicle look newer on the outside. The only people they are fooling are themselves and people who know nothing about the marque. Even if they get away with it on the outside, all it takes is a look through the window and gosh imagine that its the old, old, version.
Better off putting the money into the parts that count. Thus ensuring it is the most reliable, best kept , old, old version , out there.
Mine had 230,000 on it and only got rid because a glowplug end broke off and knackered a valve, i would of repaired it but I found one with 160,000 local so sold the original and bought my current one for similar money,
Interesting it had a cambelt change nearly 100,000 miles ago, it would need changing again if it indeed had a belt and not a chain.
Personally I’d of kept it standard and advertised it for £4500
