Evening All !
ok I'm about to swap out a old tired 3 bearing 2.25 petrol for a ex military 5 bearing one.

Question 1: I'm reusing the ancillary's from the engine including the starter motor... so should I use the old flywheel from the 3 bearing engine or the one that came with the replacement 5 bearing engine (are they interchangeable)?

Re the clutch, at the moment its very light, a pleasure to drive even.... so I would like to fit a new one when replacing it, but what one should use? What's the difference between heavy duty and normal and how will it affect the drive (will a heavy duty be harder to depress?)

OK this should keep my busy this weekend...

Thanks for the help and advice :)

Hi,
Wow that was quick ! :)
Interesting comment re the colour as the engine came from a 109 FFR and was already painted with military "recon" blue? I've checked the engine numbers and its shown to be a 5 brg 8:1 engine and has the ribs on the block casting as well.... Not a problem as it got its 1st coat last weekend.... Hay if its runs I'm happy :)
Are those part numbers for a normal duty or heavy duty clutch please? I will be towing a sanky but only 2 or 3 times a year so looking for as light as possible clutch...

All good fun

Thanks Andy
