Heres my setup

Got the CB in a kit from Thunderpole, came with cables, antenna etc for about £80 I think the cb itself is an Intek, will check on that, it works fine, I had to add an external speaker (not in the pics ) mounted just in front of the cup holders because the built in speaker couldnt be heard cos its buried in the dash.

Thanks guys they look well neat, what aerials are you using i.e mag mount ect??

Mines a clamp type that clamps onto the roof rack, had to scrape some of the powder coating off the rack to get a good earth which is important. I use the shorter 1m antenna, have had about 15 mile range on level terrain.

at the moment AM and SSB rigs are illegal in the Uk but latter this year "hopefully" the rules are to change and you will be aloud FM AM and SSB and more channels but still limited to 4 watts. and must be type approved hope this helps

Started with a mag mount, then my own clamp, but couldn't get a good earth......now use a stinger antenna 1m, with proper clamp and ground plane. And is now clear, with good range. :)

years ago as a youngster when AM cb's craze hit britain, we all had them, being illegal made it more fun, then FM came along and it lost it's cred, or so we thought, so has anyone here with a CB fitted, ever been stopped by plod and had it checked on AM/FM/SSB??

keep toying with the idea of fitting one, might be handy to give you non freelander owners a tow when you need it:D
