what are my options going to be of getting a decent landy in the budget of up 1700

i prefer defenders and series but disco would do the job

dont wants a freelander

so what do i stand a gurd chance at getting with above said buget
 
You won't get a decent defender (or 90) for that money - you would get a pretty good series though for quite a bit less, but less creature comforts - depends what you want it for.
 
the main uses for it would be day to day use of about 15miles aday and odd weekend mountain biking plus going the local offroad center (3miles from my house)

Well at least you got that bit ^^^ right! :D

300 Disco should fit the bill quite nicely...
