out in the disco last night and a few miles down the road my daughter in the back seat starts moaning about the seat being wet so I reached over to check and sure enough the drivers side and middle were soaking on the base,so suspecting a leaky sunroof I felt all around the headlining and found it to be bone dry,my wife had told me she had gone through a lot of water in the lanes the other day,has anyonr had experience of water ingress from under the back seat? I cant check the car in daylight until later today as my wife has taken it to work but am just hoping for some pointers for a starting point
cheers ,Nigel

yes water thru door seals windows not closed properly when wading?? also if water was going over roof could have ****ed in thru sunroof. if wheel arches are holed water will be forced into seat. but more likely it's ****ed in when ya wife was giving boot thru flooded lane..

that d be some deep wading,I dont think it was quite that bad but knowing how she drives it would have been flat out, strange thing is a few weeks back we were away in France and I was sure I could hear water sloshing about in the back so am wondering about water under the back seat which has been topped up and is soaking through the seat base

Not possible as the seat sits on steel brackets and there's a 40mm gap between floor and seat base. sounds like water has been spraying over roof down sides etc whiilst been gunned thru floods.

Mine was dripping through the centre of the handle took ages to spot, everywhere was bone dry apart from seat. I used captain tolleys to seal around the trim outside roof area and seat has dried up perfect.

Could I ask you to do me a favour please - could you go into the settings section on your phone and take off the advertising signature line.

I'm fed up to the back teeth of reading "sent from my I-phone" etc etc etc - do I really need to know this?

thanks for the replies, the sunroofs are manual not electric so the handle sounds a good bet,I will get a look later on today and let you know what I find, its strange because the car went through some real heavy rain both when parked and driven on the motorway in France and stayed dry and yet 2 weeks later somethings changed

sure enough ,had a quick look and it is indeed coming through the winding handle so Ive got to wait for some dry time to sort it,one thing though ,what is captain tolleys?

thanks for that, looks like useful stuffand not seen it before.I had another look and with the truck facing downhill in heavy rain the water is dripping fast from the handle but once on the move or facing uphill or on the flat it stops so I presume it is the outer rubber seal?
