Hi all, just joined the forum. Renovating a 1997 300tdi defender 90 hard top and planning a West coast of Scotland trip March 2014 as a testbed for a trip up the West Coast of Norway Next year. The planned route for the Scotland trip is:

Overnight drive, East Yorkshire - McInroy's Point Gourock ‎

Day One - Ferry - Gourock - Dunoon – Oban – FortWilliam – Spean Bridge –Applecross (via bealach na ba)

Day two - Applecross –Glenmore Forest Park (Via Loch Ness)

Day three. Glenmore Forest Park - Braemar - Pitlochry - Killin - loch Lomond

Day four. Loch Lomond – East Yorkshire

Any constructive and sensible suggestions or advice gladly accepted

Suggest : Day 1 go from Fort William to Mallaig - and ferry to Skye. Then do Inverness on day 2 via Applecross and Torridon...you can double back from Muir of Ord to Drumnadrochit and up the side of Ness if time allows.

Other than that : enjoy!

Thanks for that Beneagles, I will look at the map this weekend. I need to go via Spean Bridge (Commando Mem), so will re-look at the route. Camping so any advice on decent spots at each destination would be welcomed.

fyi, lomond can have a bunch of drunk weegies causing a mess, they've banned wild camping around there.
