All injectors came out with only the slightest "tap" to loosen em

Well had all 6 injectors tested and 1 was "leaking back" as though it was an open tap and another one was leaking back slightly but enough to warrant overhauling

Inj 5 tested OK and when I checked the dribble rail seal it was clear the seal was "flattened" in one area enough to cause the dampness seen on a previous pic

I collect the 2 overhauled injectors in morning but have fitted the 4 serviceable ones

Water pump and stat fitted and 2 x new belts (number shown so if you need a belt these will be the part numbers you will need

The intercooler is fitted in the plastic housing and thats pretty much all I can now do until tomorrow

I could have rebuilt the front end but whilst I have all the front off I can get to the engine area real easy so couldnt be RS'ed to refit it yet

Will update the thread later this weekend but it now finished and runs a treat

So am loaded up ready for a trip upto to Blyton Airfield in the morning for a trackday in an MG TF135

Goes really well - smooth strong power and all good under the hood

Tomorrow I have a 280mile round trip lol

i could swear the engine felt better once i bypassed the EGR valve that was all coked up !

Not done enough mileage tonight to be able to state for sure

BUT

the amount of power and drivability I lost meant I had to notice something lol

All I will say as of yet it is certainly smoother and the power just keeps coming and with the "sorted" gearbox the car is an absolute pleasure to drive

I see from you pics that the M57 has the same crap quality leak off pipe as the M51.

Covered 260 mile today not a single issue

Trailer with car on the back - power all the way - no smoke

I always reset fuel consumption No 2 with every full tank and it returned 23mpg (enthusiastic driving style )

Thanks am just happy that it all went back together OK

The MPG is a good indicator but needs to be over a decent period of time/mileage but to be fair it seems to be quite accurate

Consumption 1 was reset the moment I collected the car and is at 22mpg after 7000 miles
