Weepy rear wheel

Just noticed I have a nice oil pattern on rear wheel, coming out of the rubber cap which goes over the hub nut. Presumably a seal gone somewhere, any idea where please? What chances for my brake shoes also??

Buy a new cap

New cap and/or oil seal.

So far as I can see there is only one oil seal and that is the one behind wheel hub bearing

OK so if it ain't coming from the cap and it's on the outside, it sounds like you need a new paper gasket on your hub.

It'll cost under a quid, unless you want to make your own from a bit of paper ... If you do, remember to give it a good smear of oil before you put it on

If it was your oil seal it would tend to leak on the inside of the hub onto your tyre.

new cap oil is supposed to lube drive member splines and check breather on axle isnt blocked as pressure build up will force oil out or cap off

Don't buy cheap plastic ones they leak genuine lr ones are the way forward
