I swapped my solex carb for a weber carb its A weber ICH and is brilliant. Very good from low revs and better on fuel than anything else I have tried. Iceing has never been a problem and I live at 900 feet in Yorkshire. Leave the oil bath filter on it and it works fine.
I had bought it before I read about it so was a little worried by some of the reviews. If your after drivability from very low revs then a webber carb and the electronic ignition conversion work great.

im now replacing my old weber 34ICH with a brand new one...keeping the old one as a spare and refurbishing with an overhaul kit I purchased...heard more positives than negatives with these units.

I've just bought one , I am fitting this morning. Only getting 100 miles if lucky to a full tank. Ouch. The Webber was reasonable for new kit. Any tips on tuning.

As stated a Weber is a simple carb to maintain. Can be prone to blocked or dirty idle jets causing backfire and run on. A refurb kit costs £20.00 online. They are an aftermarket option back in the day. The standard one was either Zenith or SU. I have one and quite happy with it .

Tuning information available online. Basically you only need to adjust the idle speed once it's fitted. You have to establish a baseline to start. Recommendation is one and half turns of the screw out and see if it idles Ok. There's a wee bit more to it but you can get the full structions online.
