Hello folks,
I may have a real goodie here for anyone.
I am in the process of retro fitting a webasto top C to my 110 as the weather has been a little nippy recently. To avoid all those boring heater matrix posts I am just going to do the right thing and fit a whole new system to my landie.
I have almost completely fitted the system inc wiring into my 1999 110, but have been stopped by one part of the installation which anyone who may have fitted or knows of someone fitting one may know about.
As everyone knows the defender has an in tank fuel pressurizing unit and a pump fitted to the rear chassis to send fuel to the injectors.
The system is split into a High pressure line and the low pressure return line via the heat exchanger in the engine bay.
I want to fit the diesel feed and priming pump for the webasto to the return line from the injector heat exchanger. The Webasto installation manual recommeds this, however if the heater is started when the car is stationery as it should do I am worried that as the landrov fuel pump won't be running the webasto will run out of fuel v quickly.
I am interested to know if I splice into the Low pressure return line between the tank pressuriser and the fuel pump will I get a clear run of fuel from the tank for the heater.
If not my other option is to run a fresh fuel line from the rear tank.
~Has anyone done this and does it require a ful drain/remove/ fitting of an appropriate aux tank feed line etc. And where might I get one from I have had a look at Car builder solutions for most of my fuel line/ clips etc for the install so far does anyone have any ideas.
looking forward to a few replies.
