water pump

hi i'm brand fresh new on here, ive got a 110 defender which needs a replacement water pump. anyone know if i can get it reconditioned as i have tried everywhere for a water pump each one supplied fits the engine block the holes on the pulley are to close together (pcd too small) i am based in burnley thanks folks see ya

What part number are you asking for??

alright redhand,the part no is hrc 1278, but!!!!! there is no cross reference for this part??? does it ring any bells to you??

Try STC637 or STC635

Also try L. R. Series - specialists in land rover, land rover series and range rover - gearbox, axle, transmission parts, spares and major units

right just looked at both of those parts, 637 is a no no and the 635 looks close but there were no thread on the end for the viscous fan, the flange on mine is for the fan belt pulley to bolt onto not to drive the fan, supposedly its a petrol 2.5 pump is that possible??

365 has a green plastic cap protecting the threads on the shaft :doh:

i have taken the pump into many parts places at first the they gave me a fwp1847 it fit the block perfact piped up ok but when i went to put the 4 bolt pully on my bolt holes are further apart but without the pully on there is a thread on the end of the shaft for my viscus to fasten straight on

I'd suggest buying a pulley to go with the pump then as your's seems to be non std.

do you know for sure it's a landy versioned engine ?
