Water pump interchangeability 2.5 petrol

Morning, I'm planning on putting a 2.5 petrol into my lightweight, but would like to make it as series like as reasonably possible.
The water pump on the 2.5 petrol looks a bit like the military 7 bolt from a series, any one know if they are interchangeable?

The series 7 bolt version only has two pipes. try getting a gasket for each and compare them.

I've ordered a gasket. I think Mr James is right, but before I buy a NOS pump I want to check.

No joy. The generic gasket ALMOST fits.

Some holes are perfect. Some aren't.
Unless the generic gasket is massively wrong, then the pump isn't likely to fit.

I'll rebuild the old one and paint it duck egg blue.

I wonder if I could use the blanked spout for a Thermotop?
