Drove from Napier to wellington. on arrival noticed a pool of red stuff, the old girl was bleeding. It was Saturday night. Bought a torch and plenty of mineral water. Long drive home on the Sunday, 170 miles, stopping and topping up every half hour. It turned out that the top hose was rubbing on something belonging to the power steering (out of sight). A new hose here $258, paddocks£27.50. Cut that bit out and put a bit of metal in..... Just a trying to be informative as this might be common..

There's quite a few chaffing points on different Landies not just hoses but looms too.

Would solve a lot of issues if vehicle manufacturers would irradicate them. All you can do is go over your vehicle with a fine toothed comb and look for potential trouble spots.

Not sure anout a piece of metal on your hose though. You'll be wondering what that new rattling noise is :D :D
