Hi,
I have a RRC 3.9 which was just dandy until it decided to drop all it's coolant today and leave me with a bloomin long cold walk!

It seems to be coming, at spectacular speed from up behind the steering pump though? Any ideas on where this may be actually coming from. It fires out so fast and then sprays about so much it's difficult to see!

Any ideas?

Thanks,
W:confused:

Thanks... but sounds more complicated than I'd hoped for!
Is this something that a vaguely nut strangler could sort? Any hot tips?
Thanks,
W

It's not a bad job if you are reasonbly confident but it is quite a lot of bother for the sake of a cheap gasket (AS IS OFTEN THE WAY!)

The problem areas are you have to remove the crank pulley, some of the bolts are very easy to cross thread on re-assembly, some of the aluminium threads are likely to be fragile and are easy to strip.

There area couple of bolts that are easily missed because they are hidden from view.

Other thing to watch is priming the oil pump. If you go for it, I would recommend changing the timing chain and refurbishing the oil pump.

You should allow yourself a full day if you've never done it before.

Sorry if that puts you off.
