Help. I keep getting damp in my electrics under the dash. If I seal the sunroof and the windscreen is that it or is there more ways for water ingress.

water was running from my sunroof, to the screen & down the sides...good luck!
Check it's not air con water condensing on cool wires within the dash. Mine was. After loeads of faffing around and stress all I actually needed to do was clean( and now remove) the squid things either side of the underneath side of the transmission tunnel.
Since doing that I have had no mysterious water leaks and the air con has dried out my carpets nicely!

Hi, Thanks for your help. I did know about the sunroof so I duck taped it up but damp still got to my electrics when it rained. Since ducked taped round the windscreen. Waiting for some rain, don't want to push my luck with hose pipe. Hope this cures it can then seal it up properly.

Hi, don't think it's the aircon. Not had it on (too cold) and only happens after it rains.

Hi, does anybody out there know where the rear wash pipe goes? If it goes behind the dash and should split, everytime you use it water would leak out causing a similar problem.

i know that if it rains really hard or wash the car it can come in through the heater air intake (plenim) passenger side and runs down through the heater fan. if i park my car in backwards which means passenger side is down in that corner due to the angle of my drive if ****es in if it rains hard... just an idea.. also mine leaked a bit in through the rubber grommet from the engine bay.. hope this helps

Cheers JAY572, I do park with the passenger side down. I will park on the flat in future when rain is forecast.
Concerning water ingress on a 2002 Discovery II Td5, i have a problem with water leaking in and soaking the head lining forward of the front electric sunroof, and now the sunroof will not work although the relay is operating when the rocker switch is operated. Does anybody have any experience of this and ideas for a resolution.
