Water in rear lights

Any tip on how to stop water getting into rear lights? I have just fitted NAS rear lights complete with new bulb holders in plinths and I am still getting water in the nearside indicator! The plinths are the right way up drain holes at the bottom.

Bathroom sealant followed by a layer of whatever you use on the chassis to avoid rust.
