The headlamps on my disco are covered in mud….on the inside!
I've taken then out and put the hose in, but the mud just wont come off… any tips on products to get rid of the mud?
Obviously I can't brush the headlamp inside, so suppose it has to be something that will dissolve the mud?

also..is there anyway of stoping the water going in?

cheers!

karcher pressure washer
then soak for a day or so with soapy water inside
then pressure washer
then another soak and use a bottle brush to clean the inside.
that wot i did.

seal up the back of the light onit and bulb.
drill a 1/4" hole in the top
silastic a foot long length of washer bottle hose into hole, so it can breath.

fit D3 lights.

I've seen then going for a bit more...
mine is the 200, but with 300 headlamps...

so I think i'll go down the cleaning and water proofing route... any tutorial with pics around?

Just noticed MHM post....

how can I seal the headlamp? just using normal kitchen sealant? .. and what is D3 lights?

cheers!!

Yeh, I did think about it, I would have to cut the sealant if I need to replace the bulb..
well, I have some aquarium sealant somewhere, so that will probably be better than the kitchen..

Ooo.. didn't know about the D3 lights..
will have to have a search around to see how dificult it is to change.... but I think I like the way my front is anyway, so probably won't change it..

Just checked...dont like the D3 headlamps...

I had same problem on my 200TDi, got sick of washing and replacing headlamps, took a step backwards (or so some would say) and fitted sealed beams from a Range rover classic. Bright enough for me, and no more dismantling and cleaning.
