I'm new to this so please be kind!! I have a P38 on a V . I replaced the off side headlamp wiper motor complete and now the washer will not work! when you press the button there is no sound but if you press the rear washer button you can hear the motor buzzing but no water! the water tank is full of water:rolleyes:
1. are the two motors the same one
2. will I have to replace the motor
3. is it hard to replace the motor

on a more serious note - the P38 has 3 pumps in the washer bottle.
- front screen
- rear screen
- headlights

when you trigger washing/wiping the front screen and the hedlights are switched on then the headlight washers work every 3rd time to clean the front screen. If the headlights aren't on then the headlight washers won't work. Also, if the screenwash is low then, again, the headlights ones won't be activated (this is normal as a water saveing measure by LR).

Most likely is that for the rear it's either a blocked jet or the motor is knackered
for the front it's either the fuse or again, the motor.

Changing the motors is dead easy once you get either the washer bottle out (remove offside front wheel, liner, fog light etc.) or take the easier option & remove the front bumper (undo fog light multiplugs, 2 bolts & 2 plastic retaining clips). you can then change & test the motors in situ.

If you haven't already got one, download a copy of RAVE (link on the site somewhere) and it really is as easy as that.

Pumps are about £20 from LR or cheaper non LR ones are on e-bay etc.

hope this helps
