Wash wipe order...

Just curious to know when activating the wash wipe button on the stalk does everyone else get a wipe before any water has hit the screen? Once the water does hit the screen it does it well with adequate force- it's just that every other car I have driven seems to spray the water before the wipers have even moved...
Any thoughts..?

Perhaps the tubes are draining back into the reservoir, therefore while it waits a short time for water to hit the screen before wiping, in your case it has to pump water all the way from the pump up to the screen, when all it should have to do is move it on a little bit. Not sure if there is a one-way valve, or if its built into the pump.

Mine are both at the same time.However in saying that I've just had the washer bottle etc out of the vehicle ,and given the system a good clean out .

If I haven't used mine for a while, I get symptoms like those you describe. If I use it regularly, the wipers and washers work at the same time. I would agree with Ian above, that the water seems to be draining back into the reservoir. I haven't worried about it enough to start looking for a potential problem and just live with it.
