P38A Wash wipe - here's a strange one!

Here's a strange one. I've search Rave and can't find even a clue! When I turn the key to position 1 the wash wipe comes on. The cycle can be cancelled by moving the stalk but then wash wipe(s) won't come on when I press the button(s). Can't find anything with Nanocom either...

I had this a few years back, it was the wiper stalk gone faulty, got s/h from bay of flea and all been well.

As above ^^^^^ Broken wire from the stalk where it flexes in my case.
