I have asked earlier but now front discs and pads are replaced i have checked for anything obvious at front end as above was done, kind chap at garage pluged small computer in (no bigger than a mobile) and said no errors found.

Leaves me with two problems, first where do i go now for three warning lights as mot now overdue.

Two, auto box is sluggish and earlier thread had replys of reseting the auto box on a computer, but no errors have been found. This problem of not engaging gear on auto box three days after oils and filter change must lay with not enough oil in box,

What do you reckon folks?? Getting desperate

It is common problem with oil changes on old auto boxes. Thats why I havn't changed mine.Look at Ashcroft transmissions web site and you will see for yourself. The govener valve is sticking caused by debris getting past filter .

All sorted, the oil was low in the box, should have gessed as i gave bloke who did it 2 x 5lt bottles and he gave me one back its suppose to take 9.7 liters, so auto box is brill now better than before.

Due to goin away and no MOT he took it to inde dealer near by and had codes read for three amigos, it showed up front senser, he took um out cleaned and pushed um back, no lights. Although now passed mot i think these amigos will drop by more often in the future.

Thanks for everyones help on this, my mate who drives a shogun is amazed by this site, ask a question when your cars in a million bits and you get an answer not long after, usually helpful, sometimes funny and occasionaly rippin the PI*S

Hi Matt how much did it actually take to fill?
The volume in the workshop manual says from dry 9.7 lit which I was told includes the torque convertor as when I did changed out my gearbox oil I could only get 4.8 litres back in , so I phoned my local Landy indie and the eng said that it will only take 4.5 to 4.8 lit. It has been working perfectly this last 1000 miles . But I have a run to the continent next month so want everything tip top.

I gave chap who did it 2 x 5 litre bottles, he gave me one unopened one back, then i had problems and returned it to him, he has given me second bottle back with about 3 lires in it so all in all he has filled it with 7 litres. Not sure if he refilled or even emptied Torque converter as not up on this sort of thing hence getting someone to do it. All is well now though

Two amigos huh? I get this from time to time on my Disco. It should reset itself if you switch off the engine. Sign of something dodgy in the sensor system I think, but probably not to worry unless the third light comes on, at which time they won't reset. Mine's been doing it for about 20 000 miles.:) Course the Freelander may be completely different, due to its not being a Disco.

You may get a better answer (and avoid abuse) if you post it in the Freelander section:D
