Wading Plugs

Do you use wading plugs only when you go for a dip? Ie, put them in before i enter any water then as soon as i come out take the back out again.........

Or

Put them in, go for a pay and play day, come home and take them back out again?

Where does the plug go??? I don't really know much about the underside of the steering on my 110 but I do know that everytime I drive through a deep puddle my steering freezes, putting the wind up me!
Kinda sounds dumb I know but some of us don't know much about the subject (me).
Thanks for any help you can give.

your problem is your fan belt slipping when wet ;)
 
Is that right? it's caused by the power steering belt slipping? I heard it was because water gets in where the wading plug goes. you learn something new every day eh.
