Wading kit timing housing breather with air con

What's the best way to put a breather on the timing housing on a 300tdi with air con? The air con works so don't really want to take it off but the kit I've bought has a plate that replaces the pulley underneath compressor so would have take off pulley and compressor and run a shorter belt

just drill a hole in front cover and fit a connector to it

I don't bother with the timing cover. Never had any problems. Providing axles and boxes are allowed to breath. It is very rare that the engine gets submerged anyway.
The thermal shock to an engine is insignificant compared to that given to the axles. Firstly the axles have a smaller volume. Secondly they are totally immersed, or can be and thirdly there is next to no heat generation on an axle. An engine block is a massive heat source and unless doing significant over the bonnet river crossings will not get very wet. Particularly if you generate a bow wave.

If I hijack this Fred for one question...when fitting this timing house cover would it be best to seal it with silicon or something? I've got a new cover with the elbow already fitted.
