VW Golf help

I know don't shoot me down in flames but im hoping one of you that reads this can help me.

What the heck is the difference between TRW and TEVES braking systems on a mark4 golf?

Im trying to buy discs and pads and everyone is asking - I cant find any info online.

The car doesn't have ABS if that helps?

p.s my series 3 is braking better than the golf...that's why I need to change discs and pads :O)

Surely they should be able to find the parts from the reg number ?

TRW manufacture after market car parts also do landrover brake components they where a canadian company and standards are good have worked at there sites providing gas.
They appear to manufacture the Teves parts.

It is purely down to what came down the line when built. My Missus has had a MK 4 Golf for 11 years now. It eats discs and pads, never been able to just put pads in always buggers the discs. Fourth set now in 107000 miles. I by parts from GSF just give them the reg number. Delphi or Brembo stuff at good prices.

I'll have to take wheel orf as for my year (1999) I can have either 265, 280 or 288mm discs on front.
