Ok so I have a good battery with good connections, no damp apart from the load space/cubby locker which has a lid anyway, no spiders or bugs crawling about and no evidence of my dear late and departed mother in law coming back to haunt me :D - so what is causing this fecking volumetric sensor setting the alarm off every five minutes after locking with the remote...am I doomed to lock with the key for the rest of my life or does anyone know what to do ??
Cheers

You could test the sensor by leaving a window open then locking it with the remote. Wait for the dash led to change from fast to slow flashing then put yer arm in under the sensor. Should set the alarm oft. Is it possible someone has walked past it? Don't think they're set that sensitive.

Do you have any problems with doors not locking, tail gate door/window not working, battery drain or interior light not working correctly when doors are opened?? It's a 5 door so you don't have the roof switch problems.

If the volumetric sensor is causing annoying alarm activation then I think you could just unplug it. This way you will be able to lock the car with the remote. If the alarm stays silent then that will prove the sensor is on the blink and needs replacing.

Thanks guys,

Just been to a quiet place and did the open window test - locked with fob, rapid led flash to slow then stuck my arm in ...nothing for ages frantic waving of arm but nothing from the alarm then suddenly it went off after about 30 seconds.

No problems Hippo apart from rear passenger side door solenoid not unlocking but I've had that since I bought it and the volumetrics were working fine then.

Cheers Nodge thats a good idea - sounds like the sensor has had it :):)
