Good day all ,i am new to your site but am a Landy fanatic
As this turbo conversion is not very common in Australia on td5 there is not much info on our forum www.aurlo.com
I have a VNT turbo which i have recently installed along with larger cooler silicone hoses straight thru exhaust boost box has been installed
firstly running this with orginal map turbo pressure is extremely low
but runs fine
running with remaped it runs like a pig and even with a boost box it overboost and lags around 3000rpm

so running from my new VNT actuator(round thingy ontop of turbo housing) the little rubber tube runs straight into the steel intercooler inlet pipe and by passes the wastegate switch completely (little box by the a/c condensor)is this right or do i still go through the switch as intruction s on install says to bypass it
what i am trying to get at is how have other done this conversion and how did they get there Td5's to run good

cheers Kelvin

I cant really see much point in changing to a VNT,they seem more trouble than wastegated units. The standard one will overboost at as little as 2100rpm so you need to look at the max alloable boost in the remap you have downloaded, standard is about 230Kpa so unless its been upped you wont achieve much. The bigger intercooler and more fuel will make more power, but EGT's will rise too high if you do too much and the underbonnet temp will melt the wiring looms and cause oil leaks.
