Viscus fan problems

Hello, I have just nicely got my first land rover td5 discovery on a 2000.. I have just put a new viscus fan on because I was nakerd it was just running flat out all the time... So got a new fan put it on today and it is doing the same just running flat out as soon as u start engine and doesn't stop till engine of sounds like a jet taking off.. So could any 1 help in this area as it carnt be the fan as it brand new??? Cheers
