Right as the csw ran out of mot and it will fail miserably in its current condition, its time to sort it!

And make it alot better at the same time

Here it is at present

looks good from a distance :D

well first job is to sort the chassis - the fist sized holes in the outriggers and crossmember. Im going to try and shotblast it this weekend and see whats what.

  • Ive decided that modifying the existing 2nd row seat brackets to suit smart car seats is too much of a ballache. Although do'able it just doesnt look very good. So I have set about modelling up a custom set in inventor and ill have them laser cut. Then its just a bolt in job. Thinking a set of drawers intergrated into them to carry the kids toys etc would be a good idea whilst I am at it.
  • going to remove the dog guard and fit a solid partition instead. Completely sealing off the back load area. This should drastically improve the heating / cooling inside the passenger area, reduce noise and just generally be more practical. I never have anyone in the back anyway!
  • I have QT front and rear cranked arms to fit with all new poly bushes which should help with the handling.
  • Get the reversing camera working properly to act as a rear view mirror and a second camera next to the towball so i can connect up to trailers really easily!
  • The electrics need sorting
  • Fit LED headlights, and install the led taillights that i have kicking about in the workshop.
  • Will be fitting an upgraded heater box - maybe with aircon if i can be bothered.
  • replacing the wings
  • paint in dark blue
  • masai panoramic windows for the back
  • intergrated roll cage/roof rack at the front. Internal roll cage at the back (as i have a wolf one in the yard sat there doing nothing!)
  • I have a newly rebuilt salisbury rear axle with disc conversion to go on, again with new a frame and polybushed up.
  • sort out the wiring under the bonnet, the engine bay is untidy as hell, whilst im there replace the brake lines with braided hose (1 piece from the master cylinder to get rid of failure points)
  • fit the additional allisport fuel tank beside the existing one (giving 100 ltr capacity)
  • weld up the doors bottoms and replace door seals etc.
  • pop top roof conversion
  • air suspension conversion - having had the range rover this has spoilt me with regards to comfort. I want some!!! Also this will again be great for picking up trailers etc. And will give self levelling headlights to boot.
  • swing out side awning
  • install the eberspacher night heater in the back with remote so it blows into the 2nd row footwell.
  • seal up all the little holes and leaks
Might install aircon to my new heater system ready for our emigration.

Right thats the rest of the 4x4tyres.co.uk challenge 15"x 10" rims fitted. With the usual bit of easy start and a blow torch!

The new stock

lol

not picked up the 90 yet. Its the neighbours and been in their barn for a while.

D reg 90 with n/a engine and no power steering. started up fine and the chassis is really tidy! better than any of my 110's! Ive told her she is driving it the 10 miles back so she can see if she can drive a can without power steering lol

lol you remember you are moving right? need to reduce your crap

i know

at least the rangie can move itself and doesnt need towing!

Been busy sorting "projects" today so have been sorting out her l200, managed to just about get the turbo changed in about an hour which wasnt half bad i reckon! amazing how much time you save with air tools!
