Views on a 3.9v8 petrol Lpg Engine

Hiya

i was just wondering what peoples view were on a petrol engine with 170,000 miles on it, i wouldnt be bothered if it was diesel but not sure about the petrol ones

just got one with 166k. runs like a dream and uses no oil. depends if its got a good service history.

have a peer down the oil filler cap, and try to remove the breather on the same place on the opposite rocker cover (it unscrews)

have a look in there too. if they look like theres a barbecue been poured in there, its gonna need cleaning out, and thats a messy job.

thats said, if it made it to 170K, its probably gonna be alright anyway!

assuming its not losing any water or overheating, a good clean out every so often is all they usually need.

I had a RR Classic that had over 260k on the clock with the 3.9 in it just got to make sure the oil is changed I used to do mine at 6000 miles intervals as a maximum.
