hi, i have a very bad vibration coming from my freelander, thought it was the propshaft so removed it, problem still persists. it only happens from about 40mph onward. the ird was replaced december. i have recently had the wheel balance done, all fine there. it has just been in to have timing belt done and started about a week after this. could it be something they have done. any ideas would be a great help

thanks neal

Is it like a vibration or does the vehicle feel like all the wheels are going in different directions.Mine was scary to drive till I changed the o/s drive shaft.
When the garage changed your timing belt they will have disconnected the drive shaft from the hub, could have damaged the cv joint, could be the timing is out a tooth,I'd contact the garage.

Me? yes I removed the whole prop vcu and all.I battered the flange off the diff end of the prop to blank off the oil leak from the diff,as I typed recently I dont know if that was really necessary,it was getting late and dark,I saw a leak and panicked.
Most people just remove the front prop.
The reason I took out the prop is,it was the only thing that seemed wobbley enough to make the vehicle shake like a washing machine.Looking at it now,the prop bearings are ok and so is the damper.

i have had a bit more off a play today. seems the n/s drive shaft has a lot more play in it than it did about a week ago. the complet prop shaft was remove in one piece. will replace drive shaft and see what happens.

Hi, i seem to have the same problem on my 2001 v6, it seems to shake as you say like a washing machine when it gets abover 40 but only under load when i coast it goes away and is nice and smooth as soon as i hit the gas it starts to really shake, i took it to a garage he said he removed the prop shaft and it still did it and had no idea what it could be,
