clamping the 3 flexis is just used to help isolate a fault or when changing a wheel cylinder, with rear clamped and poor pedal issue is at front if it gives good pedal then rears at fault ,likewise both sides at front , a glass bottle and jar with rubber tube is all thats needed with someone pumping pedal slowly , it often helps to bled all 4 a little to start with , order doesnt really matter but usually you do furthest from master cylinder first then next etc , closing nipple before pedal is allowed up and reopening to depress again helps ensure air isnt sucked back in past bleed nipple, shoe adjustment is important as there is not enough pedal movement to cope with poorly adjusted shoes

james martin, thanks for the reply will give that a try before I go spending on a master cylinder. I have no obvious leaks I`m not losing brake fluid and the brakes are fully adjusted up.
