Don't go putting veggie oil in a petrol Landy, you will **** things right up.

If you have a diesel engine, you can possibly run it on veggie oil. Some people use a mix of vegetable oil and diesel. Most will agree that some engines are more suitable for it than others. Others believe it's a curse.

When diesel engines were first designed, they were designed to run on a variety of fuel types, even peanut oil. This is why they will run on vegetable oil in theory. However, it can cause problems. You need to do some research. I decided not to do it with my FL TD4.

most use a diesel/veg oil mix.
you can also use SVO (straight vegetable oil) or biodiesel which you can buy or make yourself.
Adding veg oil to your diesel fuel can block the injectors and will block the fuel filter.

Ahhh, i dont have a diesel engine.... Infact, i dont have any engine (apart from a couple of RC car ones lol ) Im just gathering infomation on what to do ect ect,

So does this give anymore MPG then ?

Some say it does but I guess it depends on the engine. In most cases I'd say it's negligible. The main reason for doing it is because per litre, vegetable oil is cheaper than diesel. Nowadays though, we're talking about a 20p difference on average.

yeah, we just bought a new motorhome, and were thinking about getting that converted to LPG :)

Myself im a 16 year old, with not long to go before his driving starts, so im just gathering infomation before i buy the landrover, looking at getting a small defender 90....

The Defender 90 is not small, it may look it from a distance but it's certainly not small. :p I have a Freelander and it looks absolutely pathetic parked up next to a 90!

yeah but the 90 is small compairing it to the 110, with the crew cab ?

I did fancy a 110 but a 17 year old parking one off those is abit over the top, anyway, back on topic ;)
