vcu confusuion

hi all, hoping for a bit of advice: i bought my 2003 td4 s/w a couple of weeks ago, did check on ird as recommented on bell enginerings web page all o.k (touch wood), however, i have seen alot of comments about the vcu needing to be changed at 70,000, mine has done 89500, (got full history etc) but nothing is mentioned in service or handbook that i can find, can anyone advise is this something requiering urgent attention, or nothing to panic about:high5: thanks in advance, all the best, emandem

jack one rear wheel up and check it will turn stiffly but smoothly with bar and socket on wheel nut ,check regular if it becomes very difficult or impossible change it

Mine at 70000 can be turned by hand with just your weight pushing down on tyre , Also will move easily with 18" bar on center bolt under cap .
