Valve clearance question

If that's the case do the caps still fit on ok ..what happens if the valve top is damaged.. will the cap still fit on ..can the valve end deform if it's run too long without the cap .. just wondered if that's what I happen to come across and what I may need to do to overcome the issue
 
Me thinks you worry too much.

If the caps are missing in the morning then ask the question if there is an issue. I would suspect you are worrying for nowt.

Lets face it, if you do find a cap missing and a problem, The engine has been running for a while like it.......:p:p.

Sometimes they break up, usually you will notice a tapping sound. It doesnt seem to do much harm if rectified fairly soon, the valve tops are hard.

Dont worry about it, maybe I shouldnt have mentioned it. It happens occasionally, yours will be fine! :)
 
One thing to be aware of is the torque required to refit the rocker cover, do not overtighten it. Also double check the gasket once it is refitted.....
