You may recall that I rebuilt the 200,000 mile 200tdi engine out of my 1993 Defender when the head gasket blew. Although I had to have her re-bored (+ 20 thou), remarkably neither the crank nor camshaft needed any work doing. So fitted new pistons, rings, bearings/seals all round, and had the injector pump and injectors refurbished. The turbo had minor cracks but nothing that would stop it operating. The engines now back in the vehicle and I'm about to re-fit the radiator/intercooler/oil cooler etc. So far, so good.
Now I know I have to prime the turbo (no probs), but I want to turn over the engine to get the oil pressure up before starting her. But how do I crank the engine over without starting her please? Any suggestions would be gratefully received. Thank you.
