vacum hose turbo

Hi to all and any that can help in regards to a little problem i have relates to the vacum hose filter of the turbo, as mine has split a while ago before i got motor. so this what i need, were in hell dose it go or connect to as looked and can not see, the only place i see is steel pipe near the maf ???
help please.

turbo vent filter is connected to the lower hose from the turbo-actuator solenoid

steel pipe with a 'u' shaped end .. ( next to where that filter clips on )
is the breather for the ird unit ..

Ok cheers for that but dose the filter end connect some were or is free ???
as replaced the pipe no. 2 as was worn which runs around the back airfilter box .

That's right, but it's often overlooked even by LR Service workshops, so ......

If you're unsure of when it was last changed - or if it's at all dirty - change it.

A dirty or even partially clogged one could slow the turbo response.

Most filters of this type have an arrow stamped or moulded on them.

The arrow should point towards the engine to stop dust getting to the turbo relay switch.

was wondering about the possibilty .. but more to regarding the solenoid and turbo vane actuator
after someone told me i could see the solenoid from the drivers side front wheel arch ..
given the opening slot for the steering gear .. looks like it could be vulnerable to mud / debri thrown up by the wheel
