Afternoon all I am in the process of doing the head gaskets after the engine cooked question what are the chances that after skimming and redoing the head gasket I end up with a warped block ? What is there I can do to check the block or does it have to come out to be checked on a bench. I was sort of thinking that once heads are off if the liners are still in place then the block might still be true but I think that might be wishful thinking
Any advice welcome

Warped block pretty unusual. Only V8 i know of that was prone to warped blocks was the early Triumph Stag engine.

Yep remember that one this came about by a so called expert ex meaning out off spert meaning small drip he was saying that there is a 50 50 chance of the block warping cant see it with these thanks for the reassurance having a bit of fun stripping it down and getting round to lots of jobs that have piled up thinking of painting the rocker covers red what do you think or is it a bit chav
