My 3.5 V8 revs too hard on tick over and i don't know why. Any ideas? I don't know what the engne came out of, how old it is or when it was shoe horned into the S11a. It has Zenith carbs the pots have oil in them, i have not adjusted them ever it has just developed the fast idle. Makes interesting driving behind other cars as the Landy wants to go go go.

Throttle or choke sticking, induction air leak for starters....

make sure it has got the correct oil in the carb pistons,it should be light machine oil not engine oil.

Solder up the little spring loaded valves in the throttle butterflies.
And make sure one of them hasn't come loose.
