v8 oil pump and PRV

I just started changing my oil filter housing for a remote type using a new oil pump cover with the two outlets. I hope the PRV is just a spring and a small cylindrical shaped thingy on the end, have i missed anything!!
Also when i removed the old cover ( on my back in the ****ing Rain) the cog nearest the rear of the engine fell out. Now i couldnt see any difference to which way round it went, could anybody please put me out of my worrying mode and tell me it doesnt matter, Heres hoping

I don't think it really matters,but try to look for any score marks both on the housing and the gear and match them up. I've done the same thing before and just put them back in any old way and not had any probs.
Word of warning though,when you pop the gear back in,pack it full of Vaseline "ooh er mrs!" before you build it up or you won't get oil pressure!

Will do, thanks and yep i did find out the hard way, i was scared stiff id f##ked it but it ran today, quiet as a bell. so im really chuffed

bells are noisy
