Here goes.....
for quite a while no iv been after a new hobby so i finally decided after much deliberation that off roading was the one for me and a v8 landy was the only way to go.

So next was the finding i trawled all the usual spots and came across a v8 jap import in oxfordshire on a s reg done 66k and was told there was no rot so being miles away as usual i aranged a price on it being what he said and off we went...

Upon arriving the car was sat on 4 post ramp and ready for a good inspection. Me being a newbee i took a close friend with me who has built one before and knows pretty much every thing there is to know (sam merrell). On inspection the car was immaculate zero rot any where all sils looked solid boot floor was complete even the body work was straight. So on this i paid the man and took it home It drove back to manchester great.

So the next day we decided to get started on the rip out i removed side steps, sill trim, roof rack, mud flaps, inner arch liners, rear bumper strip and anything else that looked as though it could hide mud behind it. On doing this we did find some surface rust and a tiny hole middle sill the rest is just solid but it was never going to be perfect! Anyway these were easily fixed with a small patch some no1 rust beater and hammerite

That brings us to this weekend saturday i carried on with the rip out starting with the front bumper and bull bar and then onto the interior getting pretty much everything apart from the drivers seat and the dash out ready for sale as they are far too good to ruin in the mud.

Picking up the

new bumper on friday but on saturday night i went over to chesterfield for some wheels and tyres to sort the dim stance out a little bit and fitted them sunday morning after a bit of arch trimming that is :)

Thats where were upto for now will try and keep updating as much as poss as i go along with the build.

How is the noisy one?

Yeah it's incredible, never seen anything so clean underneath.

Looks like the motors had some attention recently too.

I'm impressed!

Mine is still curled up in the corner feeling lonely but it WILL get there soon

I've got some fantastical money making plans that will allow me to buy thousands of pounds worth of parts immediately to finish the rebuild

But yeah it's not going anywhere at least! :p

Quick update on the project....

Managed toget some arches fitted this weekend and order the bulk of what is needed to get it where it need to be for laning etc but am still in need of a set of 33x12.5xr15 if anyone has any....

Im gonna cast my hammer over it tomorrow night for a service and this and that, brought it round to the shop tonight and must say it drives alarmingly well.

Really must fix that!! :D

Hi all

not updated in a while so thought id let y'all see what iv been upto recently

So iv fitted sumo steering bars and a terrafirma RTC steering damper which in fairness turned out to be quite an easy job apart from a slight bit of sorting the tracking out they are a straight swap.

Buckets these went in with a little bit of fabrication of a metal box section and the origional runners but again turned out to be quite plesant

And then it was the diff guards and cb radio up to now but sliders are arriving tuesday so i look forward to getting them on.

Then the time finally came to get her dirty so i started with a couple of hours one evening laining with mr noisy then tong pay and play and today up south yorkshire with a few lads from here and not only was it an awesome day out the car is awesome too no casulties as of yet and running like a dream :D
